Pre-Marital Counseling

About Pre-Marital Counseling

I offer a package of three to four sessions. Each session is ninety minutes.

In the first session, I get to know you and your relationship history, as well as your hopes and dreams for your life together. You will leave with a packet of information and resources that I believe every couple should have.

The second session is an Adult Attachment Interview. This takes us deeper into your early history, based on the understanding that our relationship with our primary caregivers, often our parents, forms a kind of blueprint for how we connect in adult relationships. Couples often find this both meaningful and practical, and many clients report feeling closer to their partner after this session.

In the third session, we process what we have learned and explore the implications of your early history. We identify concrete ways you can support one another that fit your unique blueprint.

If we include a fourth session, it would be more educational and tailored to your specific questions and concerns that may fall outside early history. We can make better choices when we are well-informed, and I am here to support you with the structure and footwork.
